Search Trains Between Stations: Plan Your Journey Right
Find all direct trains on your route, check running days, compare travel durations, and select classes.
How to Find Trains Between Two Stations?
Searching for trains between stations is the core planning tool for any railway traveler in India. By entering your departure station (source) and arrival station (destination), you can view all trains scheduled to run on that specific route, along with departure/arrival timings, total travel duration, distance, and running days.
Types of Trains on Indian Railways
Understanding the type of train helps you select the right travel speed and comfort level:
- Vande Bharat Express:India's premium semi-high-speed self-propelled trains. These are fully air-conditioned sitting chair cars (CC/EC) operating on day routes with minimal halts.
- Rajdhani & Duronto Express: Premium long-distance fully air-conditioned trains connecting state capitals with national hubs. Meals are usually included in the fare, and halts are minimal.
- Superfast Express:Standard long-distance trains running at average speeds above 55 km/h. They carry a minor "superfast surcharge" in their fares.
- Express & Mail Trains: General long-distance trains with more intermediate stops and slightly longer travel times compared to superfast trains.
Travel Classes & Suffix Codes
Always verify which classes are available on a train before booking:
- 1A: First AC Sleeper (2 or 4 berths per coupe, lockable doors).
- 2A: AC 2-Tier Sleeper (4 berths per bay + 2 side berths, privacy curtains).
- 3A: AC 3-Tier Sleeper (6 berths per bay + 2 side berths).
- CC: AC Chair Car (seated travel, standard on Shatabdi and short Vande Bharat routes).
- SL: Sleeper Class (non-AC sleeper coaches).
- 2S: Second Seating (non-AC sitting coaches, reserved).
